The old pontoon is a 1992 Stardust 16×8 that was sold with some townhouses near the dump in Broward as a promotional deal. This one washed up on the clubhouse shore some 15 years later nobody to claim it and against my better judgment became mine.
Its first reincarnation got stripped down to the frame, new deck & vinyl flooring, removed all the rotten furniture, installed a bimini and a friend’s flip-flop seat. Eventually add a brandy-new 30hp Suzuki and off we go.
Second reincarnation is as a Jupiter sandbar cruiser with low freeboard for bridge clearance – custom SS side rails with bamboo panels, tropical paint on the rear seat / dock box and folding console, and a new aluminum fuel tank.
