July 2017: Port St. Lucie > Miami > Tavernier > Marco > Ft. Myers > Moore Haven > Port St. Lucie
Google maps approximation of the trip. Red dots are over-nighters.
Four of us camped out on the Atlantic the night before mini-season to reserve our honey-hole
Lake Okeechobee was getting rough on the way home due to approaching Tropical Storm Emily. Luckly we were running down-wind and it just made for some splashing. Cruised at 20-22mph over the backs of ~2′ tightly-spaced chop.
Barge coming through Moore Haven lock early Sunday morning
Our evening guest was a little guy, but very comfortable around people.
Burger shack just East of Ft. Myers – funky setup; mediocre food. Pretty sure the Cypress Gardens drop-ski I had for 30 years and lost 2015 was bolted to their railing
